About the League
ORIGIN OF THE CREATION OF THE ORGANIZATION
It is undeniable that the development of a country rests on its human resources, the development of agriculture and well of others. However, in Togo, the agriculture which occupies more than 80% of the working population is exerted by peasants which set up the most underprivileged group and less equipped population. The peasants do not manage to have an easy access to the saving which would be used to finance the projects of development.
Vis-a-vis this report bitter and conscious owing to the fact that any durable human development cannot effectively take place without a collective participation of all the social layers, the initiators of the LGD thought of setting up a structure which would bring together the peasants and would help them to combine their efforts for their social blooming and on other plans.
It is in this concern that the League of the Groupings for Development (L.G.D.) was born on January 5, 1997. It is an Organization NonGovernmental main road of support to the development.
It is recognized by the Togolese State under the receipt of declaration of association n° 1138/MISD-SG-DAPSG-DSC, delivered on August 18, 2000 by the Ministry for the Interior, Safety and Decentralization. On October 11, 2005, it obtained Ministry for the Development and Regional planning, the certificate n° 327/MDAT/2005, conferring to him the quality of O.N.G of development.
